I was tricked today. Mr. Howler said that the school had something special planned for all of the kids. I thought it was going to be something fun, especially because we had an assembly during math. I was so happy not to be doing math. (It's my toughest subject and I have trouble with it sometimes.)
We were lined up and seated in the auditorium. The teachers were putting on a show, but I noticed that kids were being pulled out row by row. They didn't look happy when they came back. I was near the back so it took a while for them to get to us.
After a while, they finally called my row. I wasn't too upset yet, because it was intermission. We were taken to a small room and told to line up outside the door where we would wait until it was our turn. I was first so I went in and there was Mama Monkey behind the screen. It was shot day and she was there with other people who gave shots. Mama Monkey gave me my shots. They didn't hurt too much, but I still wish I didn't need them.
It was hard getting up to go to school this morning after the holiday. I was really glad it was going to be a short school week, especially after today. There's been fires close by and the teacher, Mr. Howler, had the windows closed all day. It wasn't too hot so it didn't bother me at first. After lunch was a different story though. The smells that happened in the room were terrible! Everyone had the same thing for lunch so I have no idea why the smells coming from the boys, especially Little Ape, were so toxic. I begged and pleaded with Mr. Howler to open the windows, even one, but he refused to do it. He said said something about the air quality being bad outside. I asked him what's the difference if the air quality was just as bad inside. I was sent out into the hall for that. I was able to finish my work in a funk free environment. I sure hope tomorrow's air quality is better and we can open the windows again!
