I was swimming in the lake when I noticed a monkey that was swimming far out past the roped area. I told Uncle Titian and he said that monkey could get hurt and that he was an adult and should have known better.
A few minutes later, I noticed a boat slowly making it's way towards the swimmer. Uncle Titian told me that it was the park rangers. I figured the monkey might get in trouble...and I was right. The rangers were close to the swimmer and were calling out to him, but he didn't seem to hear them. They honked the air horn and he just kept on swimming.
My eyes got big when I noticed that. I asked Uncle Titian if he thought the swimmer heard them and he said that he was sure he did and that he was ignoring the rangers. One of the rangers went out to the bow of the boat and was holding something that looked like a rope on a stick. He slipped the rope around the swimmers midsection and hauled him up out of the water.
After a few minutes they brought the swimmer to shore and it looked like they had written him a ticket!! I thought that was a good idea because he was ignoring them and could have gotten hurt. I will follow the rules at the lake so that I don't get hurt or get a ticket!
