There's about two and a half days until the New Year! I can't wait!
I hope everyone had a great holiday. We got a rare holiday snow and I had lots and lots of food and lots of presents. I got a monkey doll from Monkey Claus. Mama Monkey got me some new socks and a new terrarium for croaker and ribbit. Even our tree decided to work that day. (The fireflies refused to light their butts to light up our tree. Mama Monkey was unable to do anything about it the days prior to Yule).
Mama Monkey told us the craziest story as we were unwrapping our gifts. She said that she saw Monkey Claus Yule Eve when he was delivering our presents. I didn’t really believe her until she said that she saw him talking to the fireflies and then they lit their butts so that we would have lights on the tree! I had wondered what made them change their minds. All in all, it was a great day and I hope you had a great day too!
The holidays are almost here and we have not even decorated yet. My last day of school is Friday, then I don’t go back for another two whole weeks! I am so happy! The only problem is that Mama Monkey has been so busy, she hadn’t gotten the tree until yesterday.
When I came home from school today, I noticed the tree was up and the boxes of decorations were out, but only the lights were hung on the tree. Mama Monkey left me a note saying she had to go into the village and that she’d be back later to decorate with me.
I felt bad because Mama Monkey’s been so busy that I decided to help her out and decorate the tree by myself. I had a hard time hanging the ornaments on the top of the tree until I realized I could swing from the chandelier. I was even able to put the star on the top of the tree.
My plan would have worked perfectly if I hadn’t broken the light. I guess I got a little chubbier since the summer, and a small part of the chandelier fell off of it. I started cleaning it up really quickly and put it outside in the trash. Hopefully Mama Monkey won’t notice the difference.
It looks like Fuzztastic ate something that made him grow HUGE! Mama Monkey will have to figure out how to fix him AND convince me that he doesn't need his fuzz trimmed! (Artwork by Corbin Hillam) :)
It has gotten very cold out. I forgot how much I don't like the cold. Mama Monkey had to light the fireplace today and I think I saw a few snow flurries drifting out of the clouds this afternoon.
I was annoyed when Mama Monkey made me go outside and play with my friends. I just wanted to sit by the fire and pet Fuzztastitc, but she said I was in the way.
A funny thing that happened while I was outside. Little Ape fell in a puddle and got his behind wet. He didn't like that I laughed and he pushed me into the puddle.
Coco Monkey and Squirrelly Monkey started throwing mud at him. He was a frozen mudcicle Ape. He tattled on us and then we all ended up getting in trouble. By the time I was able to go home, the water froze to my fuzz and there were icicles hanging off of my behind. I had to jump into a tub of hot water to melt them off. I was not happy because I had to take another bath. I just took a bath yesterday. Maybe tomorrow she will let me stay inside after school.
