Staying in the house on a hot summer day is never an option unless I'm grounded. I have sat in the tub all day on days like that. Mama Monkey says I've been really good this summer. Well, I think that's because I'm never in the house--Ha Ha Ha!
Every day I go with my friends, Cappy, Squirrel Monkey, and Coco Monkey, to the river and we stay in the water until our lips turn blue. I don't know how the grownups figure it out, but there is always one that comes by and yells at us to come out for a little while. We eat lunch or snacks when this happens, but 20 minutes after we finish eating, we go right back into the water.
Today Little Ape and Orangutan came to the river too. They were annoying. We were going into the river after lunch and they jumped in and began to splash us. I swallowed a lot of water because of it and that made me mad. Cappy had the idea to start farting so they would stay away. It was almost like a bubble bath. The only bad part, besides the smell (who knew farts smell worse when coming out of the water?) was that the water seemed to get warmer. I was not amused. So my friends and I went up to the river bank and covered ourselves in mud and sat in the shade of the trees.
Little Ape and Orangutan left the river and went home, grumbling all the way that we had ruined their fun. The nerve of some monkeys! I hope they find something else to do tomorrow because it's going to be hot and we'll be in the river again.
Summer's finally here. I've been spending all day in the river and it's great. It's been so hot, that I even begged Mama Monkey to trim my fuzz! Even the cats let Mama Monkey trim their fuzz too! They look a little funny but they don't look as miserable as they were before the trim. It's also great because there's less fuzz for me to sweep for chores. Yay Summer!
I had a scare this morning. When I woke up, it felt like I had a burr in my nose. I tried blowing my nose, but whatever it was did not come out. I t was stuck in there really good and it was annoying.
I tried using toilet paper to help me get it out--so I wasn't technically picking my nose--but that just made it start bleeding. I never had a bloody nose before so I ran into the kitchen so I didn't make a mess on Mama Monkey's rugs. I went to the sink to wash my hands, but my nose wouldn't stop dripping! That's when I started to panic.
Panicking is never a good thing to do, especially when you're hurt or bleeding. I started crying because my nose wouldn't stop. Mama Monkey came into the kitchen and asked if I picked my nose when I told her it was bleeding. I was too upset to answer. Mama Monkey sat me in a chair, put an ice pack on the back of my neck, and told me to hold pressure on my nose for five minutes.
That was really annoying, but it finally stopped the nosebleed. Mama Monkey asked again if I had picked my nose and I told her that I used a tissue, so technically I didn't. She laughed and told me to come see her if that happened again so I could avoid another nosebleed.
Today I was stuck inside cleaning. I got in trouble for not cleaning my room so I was grounded for the day. Mama Monkey had to run an errand, so she sent Aunt Fuchsia over to keep an eye on me. Aunt Fuchsia decided to work out in the yard while I was cleaning the kitchen.
All of a sudden, I heard a buzzing noise. I ignored it at first because I thought that it was just a fly. I was wrong. I noticed something big flying by the window as I cleaned. Then it flew into the living room. It looked really fat to me, so I went into the other room to get a better look at it.
I looked around until I found it crawling around the window sill. That's when I realized that it was a wasp. I didn't want to get stung, so I figured I could get Fuzztastic to hunt it. I carried him out of my room and placed him near the window, only Fuzztastic wouldn't go near the wasp. I tried putting him closer but he just backed away and then hid under the couch.
The wasp seemed like it was getting angry because it began to buzz more. I went to the door to call Aunt Fuchsia, but the wasp flew over and landed on the door handle.
I ran to the kitchen and opened the window to call Aunt Fuchsia. She came in and shooed the wasp outside.
She suggested that I just call an adult to deal with it next time this way Fuzztastic and I don't get stung. I guess Fuzztastic is just not a good enough hunter to catch wasps.
