It was really cold when I woke up this morning. Mama Monkey said that we got a "cold snap," whatever that is. It usually doesn't get so cold out here where we live. I decided to find my friends and play outside anyway. I noticed that my breath looked like smoke coming out of my nose, but Coco Monkey's mom said that happens when the weather gets this cold. Coco Monkey and I found Cappy and Squirrelly outside too. As we were playing, Cappy laid a fart. It looked like he was breathing out of his butt. It was AWESOME! I think I like the cold!
Today is the best mom in the whole wide world’s birthday. It’s Mama Monkey’s Birthday! Also, it is so nice outside, I think winter decided to give Mama Monkey a gift too by letting it be so warm today. I am excited because she is taking me out of school early so we can celebrate at Uncle Titian’s and Aunt Fuchsia’s house. It took me until today to figure out what to get Mama Monkey for a present. See, I am not good at making things and I really wanted to get Mama Monkey something nice this year.
Coco Monkey was the one who helped me figure out what to give her this year. Last year, we made mugs in art class, but mine fell apart as soon as she unwrapped it. The year before, I gave her one of my uneaten pieces of candy. This year: I will draw her a picture. But it won’t be just any picture, it will be a picture of the both of us and all the good things we have and are thankful for. I am glad that we have settled down in our village…even if Little Ape still lives here. I made a lot of friends and I love our home. I will be able to show you the picture I made Mama Monkey next time, so please come back to visit us!
Today was an awful day. I had to go back to school after the holiday break. It was really hard to get up this morning. I even tried to go to bed early, but my mind wouldn’t let me. I kept thinking about all the great food, goodies, and company we had over the holidays. It was the first time I was able to celebrate with Mama Monkey and my friend Coco Monkey.
School dragged on and on. I was sent out into the hall twice. I’ve never seen Mr. Howler so annoyed. I was glad though, because I was able to wave to the kids in the other classes as they passed by to go to the bathroom or watched the older kids hurry to their next classroom.
I thought once the school bell rang, the day would get better, but it didn’t. I stopped at Aunt Fuchsia and Uncle Titian’s house to see how they were doing and found out that their chubby, happy dog passed away today. I am really sad. When I got home I grabbed Fuzztastic and Bride and hugged them tightly. They weren’t too pleased with me, but I didn’t care. It was nice to feel them warm and alive in my arms. I also petted my frogs, and waved to the spiders.
