Saturday was busy. Aunt Fuchsia sold a lot of her “old junk”. I sold a few of my coconuts with the milk in them but I didn’t make nearly enough to buy that book. I was very sad. At the end of the day, I helped Aunt Fuchsia put her items away.
Sunday was hotter than Saturday. A few more people came by to see what we had and I sold a few more coconut milks and almost had enough to buy the book. I was planning to sell more next week until something scary happened.
Out of nowhere, the clouds began to roll in. We moved everything under Aunt Fuchsia’s tent in case it was going to rain. But then the winds picked up. It whipped her poor tent around and moved it (even though it was weighted down) a few inches towards the tables. My coconut milks spilled. Uncle Titian ran out and grabbed a hold of one of the poles and ordered us to bring everything back to the shed as fast as we could.
Luckily, Aunt Fuchsia had very little stuff left to bring into the shed. When we came back, we saw Uncle Titian fighting to stay on the ground as a gust of wind raised the tent up into the air. Aunt Fuchsia grabbed onto Uncle Titian’s leg and I jumped and grabbed another pole and we helped bring the tent back to the ground. We stood outside getting wet in the pouring rain, holding onto the tent until the winds finally calmed.
As soon as the rain stopped, Uncle Titian and Aunt Fuchsia folded the tent down and put it in the shed. The best thing from the day was the tip I got from Aunt Fuchsia for helping when things went crazy. Now I have enough to buy the Sappy Hopper book. This was a great weekend!
